I thought it would be fun to change things up every once in a while on the blog and start featuring one of my favorite things in the world . . . FOOD! And it makes total and complete sense to do so now that I am living in such a "foodie" city. There are amazing places to eat at every corner here in Philadelphia, and I have yet to try them all. One of my favorite restaurants here in Philly is Penang (117 N 10th St.) which is right in the heart of Chinatown. I actually visited the real Penang last spring. This island state of Malaysia is known for its spicy and eclectic food offerings. Malaysian food is one of my favorite types of foods, so when I first found this place I was basically in heaven. Nothing compares to the real thing, but this place gets pretty darn close. I love taking my friends here so they can get a taste of something exotic and fun! The Roti Canai (crispy pancake with curry dip) as a starter is a must, the Chow Kueh Teow (famous Malaysia stir fry noodle) is superb, and the Penang Kari Ayam (lemongrass chicken curry) is the perfect Malaysia curry I gotta say! Eating here always brings back memories of my favorite South East Asian country!
