Team Chutzpah Rides Out – Fashion Takes A Dark Turn



London Fashion Week is a journey. Not in the nauseating televised talent contest sense, but one that can take you from the pumping, full-beam glamour of the catwalk experience to quieter, contemplative presentations in a heartbeat. And so, it came to pass, that I was ushered from one-such show to one of the more murky corners of the Freemasons Hall to encounter the oeuvre of Maria Francesca

Charlie Le Mindu's Squeal for Attention



Following Charlie Le Mindu’s involvement with Lady Gaga, and the faux red top hysteria following his last catwalk show, I was expecting a crowd – but not of the roadblock proportions that greeted me when I arrived at the new On/Off show space.


Fortunately, a sympathetic PR plucked me from the cold, wet throng and ushered me inside.  As the lights went down I noticed the small child to my left

London Fashion Week - Charlie Le Mindu


From the opening Cadillac headlamp headpiece, self-styled “Master of Haute Coiffure” and Gaga collaborator, Charlie le Mindu was operating on high-wattage and full beam.

The naked female form still holds the power to shock, even seen-it-all-before fashion professionals, and le Mindu took inspiration from his pop star client, sending his models out in barely-there leopard print and then nothing
