London Fashion Week is a journey. Not in the nauseating televised talent contest sense, but one that can take you from the pumping, full-beam glamour of the catwalk experience to quieter, contemplative presentations in a heartbeat. Following Charlie Le Mindu’s involvement with Lady Gaga, and the faux red top hysteria following his last catwalk show, I was expecting a crowd – but not of the roadblock proportions that greeted me when I arrived at the new On/Off show space.

From the opening Cadillac headlamp headpiece, self-styled “Master of Haute Coiffure” and Gaga collaborator, Charlie le Mindu was operating on high-wattage and full beam.
