Must Love Louboutins 2012

Christian Louboutin
Spring/Summer Shoes 2012

Christian Louboutin sets to impress the fashion-loving masses with his latest collection of exquisite designer shoes. The beauty of having even just one pair of these glamourous shoes, is that it can be worn with anything, anywhere, anytime. I think that's the magic of the 'Louboutin heel'. Celebrities and style icons wear them on and off the red carpet, with a pair of jeans or with a fancy evening gown.

For Spring 2012, Mr Louboutin interprets the trendy wedge heel with a sexy hint of animal print. Sophisticated neutrals are elevated by wooden platforms and plush leather. Heels are bejeweled and spiked for a ritzy rock look. See-through plastic takes on a posh appeal. Ethnic patterns are ornately beaded and embroidered onto handcrafted heels. Feast your eyes on these decorative little foot ornaments...

The red and turquoise beaded pair is on my wish list. Which one is on yours?

Shoes, Shoes, Shoes! I love shoes!

I am so sorry that I haven't blogged in a Really long time! But I thought I'd start talking about one of my favorite things, shoes. Its something that can make a statement with your outfit. Also, shoes are forever! If you gain a few pounds (we hope not!) Its still okay because they will still fit! And I will always remember something, someone told me that people will always notice expensive shoes! The shoes above are from alloy.com and definitely make a statement. They are really affordable too.

Now these are Jeffrey Campbell's Night Walk. They are not so affordable! These are a type of investment shoes. They might be a little expensive, but they will last a lifetime!

Which are your favorite type of shoes that you can't live without?

Xoxo,
Candy

Jimmy Choo Winter 2011

Jimmy Choo Bags & Shoes

Fall/Winter 2011 Collection

Jimmy Choo's Fall/Winter 2011 collection has already made countless red carpet appearances, thanks to shoe-loving socialites and actresses. The latest range is every bit as glamourous as we could expect, citing a 70's French film noir inspiration. A balance is maintained between wearable winter boots and staggeringly high heels. There are even a few ballet flats thrown in for good measure.

The craftsmanship is exquisite; beautiful shapes are sculpted from luxurious fabrics like velvet, suede, leather and lace. Metallics and leopard print are also a common theme. Besides for the conventional black and nudes, there are sumptuous sandals present in opulent jewel tones. I've been spellbound by the embellished evening sandals, which glitter with crystal covered mesh. Each gorgeous pair of heels is accompanied by a matching belt and handbag. I like the red and black box leather quilted ones. Which are your favourites from this collection?

Have you gotten your cheque book out yet? These heavenly pairs of heels are available for purchase from jimmychoo.com

Tuesday Thrills - FitFlop Frou

FitFlop Footwear
'Get a workout while you walk'

Getting fit for summer does not require any effort thanks to FitFlop. The wise minds behind this footwear brand have created shoes that tone and tighten your legs as you walk. The secret lies in the 'Microwobbleboard' technology that is placed in the wedge-shaped sole of the shoe, which causes a 'floating' effect called the 'Freefoot360'. This assists in improving and maintaining good posture, and also reduces pressure and exertion on your knees and ankles.
It's no wonder FitFlop was awarded the 'Footwear Brand of the Year' at the Drapers Footwear Awards in London earlier this year.

The FitFlop provides me with the perfect excuse to skip the gym. Walking around in a pair helps burn more calories than an ordinary shoe. It's also exceptionally comfortable, just like walking on air. The ideal antidote to a day of stumbling in heels.

The latest stylish and trendy addition to the FitFlop range is the Frou:

The Frou sandal will fit perfectly into your summer wardrobe with it's pretty floral design and functional colours. It has layered suede ruffles and contains the same unique toning technology as all the other shoes in the FitFlop range. The fashionable Frou will work well with a jeans and t-shirt or a feminine dress or skirt. It is available in a versatile, beige shaded Pebble, a deep pink Fuschine and jewel toned Indigo. The recommended retail price is R899.

For more information on this lovely pair and others, visit www.fitflop.co.za or contact

(021) 510 4428. FitFlop's are available nationwide, you can find a store near you by clicking on the 'Find Retailers' tab on their website. Getting fit has never been easier or more stylish.

Manolo Blahnik Winter Shoes 2011

Manolo Blahnik
Autumn/Winter Collection 2011-12

The Manolo Blahnik Winter 2011-12 range is a mix of unusual, classic and slightly outlandish pairs of shoes. The collection is inspired by various themes, including the literary works of Leo Tolstoy and Miguel de Cervantes, the surrealism of Salvador Dali paintings and also, Moorish architecture. Each shoe is like a piece of art, diligently sculpted and painted to perfection.

Blahnik makes use of exotic fabrics and interesting textures like velvets, fur, animal prints, tweed, metallic leather, fringing and suede. The colour scheme starts out with neutrals like black, brown and grey, then surges into a circus of bright colours like cerise, lime, red & yellow. The silhouettes are streamlined, with steep angles, pencil heels and pointed tips. Basic designs are furnished with zigzags & scallops, geometric shapes, ankle-cuffs and tie-up bows.

The Spanish shoe maestro is always one step ahead with his ambitious and imaginative designs. Putting a pair of Manolo's on is a sure-fire way of getting noticed. I can picture a few of these in Carrie Bradshaw's closet.

While I do appreciate the beauty of the conventional pieces, I haven't embraced the unique charm of the quirkier pairs. What are your thoughts on this collection?

Hellooo Vintage Shoes

I just discovered this awesome company in LA that makes new shoes from vintage designs. Re-Mix Vintage Shoes! I am dying to get my hands on some of the 20's/30's heels.

What's really awesome is that even if you were lucky enough to find shoes like this in a thrift store... they aren't a good investment because they probably wouldn't last very long since they are so old but these are brand new! They come in lots of different colors and they have half sizes. Praise be!

Plum Summer Shoes 2011

Summer 2011 Shoe Collection
by Plum

September is almost on our doorstep, which means it's time to invest in some sexy summer heels. Plum have just launched their fabulous new range for Summer 2011, with the same exceptional quality & affordability that we have all come to love over the years. I am a Plum fan because they always on trend with the international fashion scene, and offer an extensive variety of splendid looking shoes, where everyone's tastes and personal styles are met.

Nudes

As we've seen on countless fashion sites and magazines, Nude is the new Black. The rule is that you pair any outfit, no matter the colour or style, with a pair of nude heels. It lengthens your silhouette and has a very 'uptown classy' look. I love the styling of the cream lace stockings and flair floral skirt with the perforated pumps (pictured top left). I've been searching for a decent pair for ages. Plum have some great choices with these neutral coloured heels pictured above. The laser-cut leather heels provide texture and interest, while the strappy nude sandals are perfect for a night out on the town.

Spring Colours
What would Summer be without a pop of bright dazzling colour? I love these vibrant shades; seaside blue, sunshine yellow, citrus orange, a twist of lime and ravishing red. Another trendy element incorporated into the collection is the cork-heel (pictured bottom middle). These eye-catching pairs will add a zesty finish to any outfit.

Different Shapes
A huge shoe trend this season are wedges. They provide balance and comfort while still looking stylish. Not to mention they make your calves look skinnier. For those of us who are not high-heel kinda girls, Plum has created a great range of flats especially for you (top left). There is also a 'Glamour' range with evening sandals for special occasions (top right). For something unusual, there is the multi-strap Alexia with twisted rope detail, and the bejeweled ankle strap Aqua, with a mesh leather finish (both pictured bottom right).

Slip into summer with these fabulous heels, as shown in more detail on the Plum website. Use the 'Store Locator' button to find a stockist closest to you.

Oscar de la Renta Winter Shoes 2011

Fall/Winter 2011-12 Shoe Collection

by Oscar de la Renta

The Dominican designer's Winter shoe collection is an exhibition of elegance and sophistication. All the pieces are wearable and somewhat safe, if not for the dash of leopard print. There is a richness to this range, provided by luxurious fabrics like fur, satin, tweed and lace, with a scattering of sequins. It's nice to see that flats and kitten heels stand their ground against sky high heels.

The violet satin heels will add a lovely pop of colour to a neutral coloured outfit. Tweed heels are embellished with feathers and beads. The lace peep-toes also come in nude.

These kitten heels are such a versatile height; great with jeans, dresses or skirts. Leopard print is a prominent theme, in every shape and style.

Tweed adds textural interest to plain black ankle boots. The tan tie-up high-heeled riding boots are a classic and trendy pair.

I would really like to see the effect of black lace boot when its worn. A forest green suede boot is an unusual addition to the collection. The black leather thigh-high boots will bring out the vampy-vixen in anyone.
