Tuesday Thrills - Tea and Tulips

Tea and Tulips

Vintage Clothes

Stefanie Kuncman's flair for vintage fashion inspired her to start the online boutique, Tea and Tulips. Steffy sells one-of-a-kind vintage pieces which she finds and hand picks herself. She modernizes certain outfits, either by shortening the length or altering the sleeves on blouses and dresses. This Miami gal says that she is 'madly in love with clothes' and shares this love on her site by personally modeling each of the outfits. I don't know how she does it, if I the task of personally picking out pretty vintage clothes for my store, I'd want to keep them all!

Her quirky ensembles have been featured on various sites, including Elle, Vogue Germany, Grazia, Fabsugar and Vogue Girl Korea. Her clothes are well-maintained, affordable and adorable! These are some of my favourite items from the Tea and Tulips boutique.

Also check out the clearance and sale items on the site, where you will find some gems under $10 / R73. As these are all singular pieces, they do sell out quickly, but are regularly replaced with new stock. I hope you find yourself some great vintage treasures!

Hellooo Vintage Shoes

I just discovered this awesome company in LA that makes new shoes from vintage designs. Re-Mix Vintage Shoes! I am dying to get my hands on some of the 20's/30's heels.

What's really awesome is that even if you were lucky enough to find shoes like this in a thrift store... they aren't a good investment because they probably wouldn't last very long since they are so old but these are brand new! They come in lots of different colors and they have half sizes. Praise be!

Good morning, zombies!

I have another awesome vintage shop to share with you all. This one is pretty unreal. I have no idea how they find this stuff and or how they make it look so good but the people over at Thrifted & Modern know exactly how to get my heart pumping. Check out these threads!

How amazing are these dresses?

'Mad Men' Collection at Banana Republic

Do you have wardrobe envy each time you watch an episode of Mad Men? Now you too can get that 60's secretary look with the launch of Banana Republic's new 'Mad Men' inspired collection. The American fashion brand have teamed up with Emmy Award-winning Costume Designer, Janie Bryant to create a classic collection for both men and women. Janie is the creative architect behind the wardrobe of the hit TV series, which is based on the cutthroat world of advertising in 1960's New York.

The collection features the best of retro designs, including high-waisted skirts, trench coats, empire-line dresses, fitted sheath dresses, blouses and cardigans. Outfits are accessorized with strings of pearls, scarves, gloves and sheer black stockings. I love the abundance of leopard print in this range.

A lovely leopard print trench coat is worn over a cream lace dress, belted in black. A vibrant orange and grey silk print dress with pockets. A burgundy A-line dress is accessorized with a leopard print scarf and sheer black polka dot stockings. I love the rich jewel tone of the flair ruby skirt, quaintly paired with a leopard print cardigan, lace top and elegant pearls.

Shades of blue are dabbed into a printed knee-length dress. A black blouse with pussycat bow is worn under a caramel leopard print cardigan, with light grey cropped trousers. A slate grey pea coat with matching skirt is given a vintage twist with black leather gloves and a printed turban head scarf. A timeless Little Black Dress that will remain trendy for years to come.

Menswear is not my forte, but I do like the look of these classy black and grey suits. The debonair mensline includes two-button suits, vests, trench coats, a series of ties, knitted jerseys, crisp white shirts and tailored trousers.

This collection may have been inspired by a bygone fashion era, but these pieces all have a worthy place in the wardrobes of today's stylish working men and women. The Banana Republic 'Mad Men' Collection will be available this month from bananarepublic.com

As promised, here is yet another wardrobe! This time I drew inspiration from an old timey circus theme. Think bold patterns, vintage hats, turbans, sequins, gloves, tights and bursts of color.

Lily Allen's New Fashion Line

Lucy in Disguise

by Lily Allen

British singer Lily Allen, along with her sister Sarah have launched a new vintage inspired clothing line. Different eras of style have been given a modern and contemporary twist. Lily said that the collection was inspired by the idea of a fictional Lucy who is “A time-traveling fashionista who’s inviting you to explore her wardrobe… It’s a great opportunity to play with the character.”

There's twenties flapper dresses, 30's tea dresses, feminine 40's-style maxi's, 50's A-line dresses, colourful 60's prints and jumpsuits from the seventies. The prices range from £110 - £395 and are available from their Covent Garden boutique. Below are some of Lucy in Disguise designs, from original sketches to the actual outfits.

Water Park B-day Outfit!

Good Morning, Zombies!

It's my birthday tomorrow and this Saturday my friends and I are going to take a little road trip to San Dimas so we can spend the day at Raging Waters!

Via
I'm super excited to relive my childhood and have some fun in the sun. I'm even going to make some party favor bags with all my favorite childhood things. So far I've got bouncy balls, bubble necklaces, temporary tattoos, pop rocks and mini squirt guns. I hope I didn't just ruin the surprise for any of my guests. Check out this vintage swim suit I bought for the occasion.

I'm lovin' the skirted bottom! Thank you, Spun Sugar Vintage!

Here's a picture of me wearing it!

Billie Piper wows with Vintage at Peekaboo

To celebrate the launch of their very first stand alone store, Peekaboo Vintage fan and close friend of Emily and Michael, Billie Piper was only too happy to take time out and show us how she wows in vintage.
From coy and demure in a 70’s sheer flowing floral dress to screen siren in an eye-catching red bell sleeve dress and red hot lips, she manages to portray Peekaboo and it's stylish,

Girl Crush: Katharine Hepburn

TGI Thursday!! Though I wish it were Friday.... I have some eye candy for you all this morning. I probably could have posted 100 pictures of Katharine Hepburn for this post and never gotten bored. I just love looking at her face. It's not just that she's beuatiful it's that she's such an incredible actress and such a delight to watch on screen. Her face holds so much drama and wit. The camera loves it and so do I. Enjoy.

My favorite Katharine Hepburn movie so far is Philidelphia Story. It's one of my favorite movies in fact! What's your favorite KH flick? I also want to say that Katharine has amazing hair. I wish it were in style again. Oh, to be glamourous...

by Beaut Vintage

If you're a vintage clothing addict, you're going to love Beaut Vintage. This Australian based brand sources the best vintage clothes from around the world for their online store. Beaut Vintage offers an eclectic mix of retro clothing from the 50's to 90's, all reworked, revamped and restyled. Passionate store owner Sharon Perkins specially selects one-off pieces for their unique, glamourous appeal and high quality.

Besides for delightful dresses from bygone eras, the Beaut Vintage range extends to skirts, jumpsuits, shirts, jackets, handbags, belts and charming pieces of jewellery. Each item is given a cute quirky name for a truly personalized feel.

The site is very user friendly, I especially like the 'Search' tool, which allows you search according to era, colour and style. Also click on the 'Sale' link for bargains. The prices are reasonable in ZAR terms and they provide shipping to South Africa, as well as many other countries worldwide.

Junk jump off too much time for old beats, cold beats, I'm just cold meat

As our tropical summer is fast approaching, I am fiending more and more for the cold. Missing the mild climate isn't the only thing I miss from being back in Europe.. My birthday carried a bit of a nostalgic undertone, having my family on my mind and not being able to share my day with them. This last weekend was just about as close as I'll get to spending quality family time with my extended family. Saturday night I crashed and burned, accelerated by my main man Jack and topping it all off with death in a shot glass.. Bacardi 151. All while enjoying what comes off as the Filipino version of the Pussycat Dolls prancing around a club with an indoor swimming pool. These girls grind like its nobody's business, all while avoiding the ever feared metallic bikini wedgies. They're pros, I tell ya. Sunday in contrast was nothing but mellow yellow. We drove up and away from the city to arrive at a house smelling of barbecue and the most amazing adobo you will ever have.. and lounged and played wii and card games until it was time for us to get dressed to attend a birthday graduation dinner before we finally got home to my hangover kicking in double time to the point where I barely even come up with the energy needed to get myself ready for bed. T.K.O.

Because the photo-traffic on my iphoto has started to spin out of control, I figured It was time to post these randoms from my trip to Sweden. Seriously, there aren't many things in the world as enjoyable as drinking a milkshake in the snow.. OK maybe shopping for vintage hats in a store that seems to be getting bigger and bigger as you walk through it.. or rolling around the snow drunk on red wine while clumsily trying to build a snowman. AlIright I guess there are quite a few things as enjoyable, but I gotta say, any activity involving a milkshake tops my priority list pretty easily.
